4 tips to help you achieve your goal in 2021
When the year have come to an end or at the beginning of a new year, almost everyone will reflect the past year to see how far that they have come or to reflect them self if they have achieved any goal that they have set. This is also the time that we start setting new goal for the next year whether it would be “I will exercise more this year” or bigger goal as “I will buy a house or a car”. But sometime along the way we start to forget this goal or we just say I can do that next month I still have more time. I believe that we should reset our thought and start taking our dream and goal seriously because time does not wait. So, I have gathered some tips to help us achieve our goal.
1. Search the purpose of life
The first thing to do is you need to know what do you want in life. People that know what they want will move forward to that target without hesitant. But if people who still can’t figure out what they want might feel lost along the way. But don’t be afraid nothing is too late. If you don’t know what you like or what you want to do why not go out and find activity that you find interesting. You might be surprise with what you might discover.
2. Have a positive attitude
Being positive is not just smiling or being cheerful but its also about being positive from the inside. If you are positive when you faced with difficulty or problem you will find the good side from it and find a solution to solve that problem. But if you negative when face with problem you will think that everything is so tough and nothing is good in life. And it will stop you from doing many new things and pull you away from your goal.
3. Track your progress
Keeping track of your progress can be by making a checklist of things that need to do or you can use an app to help keep track of your goal as well. By using this method to measure your progress, you can see how far you come along. If you are making good progress your confidence grows along with your motivation. And if you know that you are doing well it will give you the drive to see the goal through. Moreover, if you are not making the desire progress, you are able to see what is wrong so you can identify the change that need to be made.
4. Get SMART
If you don’t how to start on your goal, why not start by using SMART it is an acronym that you can use to guide your goal setting. It will help you plan out what you need to do and you can see the big picture of your goal.
Specific: Be as clear and specific as possible with what you want to achieve. The narrower your goal, the more you’ll understand the steps necessary to achieve it.
Measurable: Have a specific criterion that measure your progress toward the accomplishment of the goal
Achievable: Your goal also needs to be realistic and attainable to be successful
Relevant: Your goal needs to be within reach and relevant to your life purpose
Timely: Have a clearly defined timeline, including a starting date and a target date.
The past year have been difficult for many people from the COVID 19 pandemic. It might have interrupted your plan to achieve the goal that you have set. But nothing is too late to start again.
